Stellarton Police Department

A letter from the Chief of Police:

Donald E HussherThe members of the Stellarton Police Service are focused on our community and providing the highest quality of policing for the citizens we serve through professionalism, integrity and accountability. We strive to provide a proactive Community Police Model which builds and maintains confidence, trust and safety through partnerships and we will continue to work with our community to achieve this objective.

The Police Service is governed by a civilian Board of Police Commissioners who provides oversight regarding strategic policing, planning and policy.

Our Police Service is made up of 13 sworn officers along with civilian staff that fulfill the functions of Dog Control Enforcement and Crossing Guards. Our civilian dispatch personnel handles calls for 2 Police Departments and 17 Fire Departments.

Our Youth Corps is made up of youth between the ages of 12 to 18 who interact with our staff to gain exposure to the policing career and serve their community.

The Stellarton Police Service is committed to our community and will continue to work together to make Stellarton a safer place to live and raise a family.

Mark Hobeck
Chief of Police.
