Stellarton Designates Buy & Sell Exchange Zone

STELLARTON, NOVA SCOTIA – We are pleased to announce the designation of a Buy & Sell Exchange Zone in the back parking lot of Town Hall (250 Foord St)!

This designated area is to provide some comfort for community members who use online marketplaces to buy and sell items. Locals who are looking for a place to meet up and exchange goods can be assured that this area is monitored by 24/7 video surveillance, there is outdoor lighting, and is located outside of the Stellarton Police Department.

“These exchange zones are being designated in other areas and Council thought it would be a great offering to Stellarton residents,” said Mayor Danny MacGillivray. “We know people are using these buy and sell services and previously, they would have had to identify their own location for exchanges. With this designation at Town Hall,residents can feelsome relief knowing their transaction is taking place with added security.”

With these types of transactions, there are potential risks associated. While there is no guarantee that this area will provide complete safety for community sales, the hope is that this option provides community members with a more comfortable exchange!
