New Truck for Stellarton Fire Department

STELLARTON, NOVA SCOTIA - The Stellarton Fire Department now has a new piece of equipment to assist with fire calls!

A new fire truck was purchased by the Town to enhance the Department's abilities when it comes to fighting fires in Stellarton. Approved by Council in November of 2022, the Town borrowed $670,000 to fund this capital item and are pleased that it is with the Fire Department in time for FIre Prevention Week (October 8-14).

"The Fire Department identified that a new truck could provide an additional layer of protection to Stellarton and Council was supportive of that cause," said Mayor, Danny MacGillivray. "It was important for Council to consider the options and prioritize the safety of our residents."

"This new fire truck has been in the works, and it is nice to see it finally arriving today," said Stellarton Fire Chief, Mike O'Sullivan. "We are trying to keep up with the latest technology to protect the citizens of Stellarton to the best of our ability, and this new pumper will definitely go a long way in doing just that."

There will be an open house at the Stellarton Fire Hall to kick off Fire Prevention Week on Saturday, October 7, from 1-3pm. All are welcome to attend and see the new fire truck.
