Stellarton Citizens interested in the following positions and willing to volunteer their time are to apply in writing to the undersigned on or before 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021. Selection will be submitted by the Stellarton Town Council.
POLICE COMMISSION 1 FROM TOWN (3 YEAR TERM)
AUDIT COMMITTTEE 1 FROM TOWN (3 YEAR TERM)
This is an opportunity for Stellarton Citizens to serve your Community.
The primary purpose of the Audit Committee is to provide advice to Council on all matters relating to audit and finance. The objectives of the Committee are to a) fulfill the requirements outlined in Section 44 of the Municipal Government Act and b) assist Council in meeting its responsibilities by assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of financial reporting, risk management and internal controls and making recommendations as deemed appropriate.
The primary purpose of the Police Commission is to provide civilian governance and oversight for the Stellarton Police Service on behalf of Council. The legislated mandate and responsibilities of the Police Commission is established by the Provincial Government of NS and set out in the Police Act.
